Queer Parade Brno
Welcome on the website of Queer parade Brno. The first pride parade in Brno was organised in 2008, and it was attended by more than 700 people. In 2009, the Czech pride parade moved to Tábor (South Bohemia), while Brno organised a Queer spring festival. This year, we would like to again invite you all to the pride parade, which will take place on 26th June 2010 - start at náměstí Svobody (Freedom Squeare) in Brno - and to a series of accompanying events.
In Programme section, you find more information about the Queer Spring Festival (accompanying events), and also about the pride parade day itself. If you want to join us, see info in About us section. Banners and media kits can be asked.
Gay and lesbian groups and organisations from Brno, Prague and other cities and towns throughout the Czech and Slovak Republics, as well as non-governmental associations with a more general remit, which participate in the organisation of the march, have been supported by politicians such as Dzhamila Stehlíková, for Government Council for Human Rights, MEP Zuzana Brzobohata, Martin Ander for Brno city, and other personalities. There are guests coming from the international LGBTIQ scene, including the Swiss singer Bettina Schelker, or the British LGBT activist Clare Dimyon, organiser of the London exhibition "PRIDE Solidarity. Fall of the Wall meets Stonewall". The European Parliament Intergroup on LGBT rights has shot a videoed message in support of this year's pride.
Come to celebrate the pride with us - to support difference and democracy all over Europe!
